UNDERGRADUATE EDUCATION

Cooper Academy's Undergraduate academics are administered through the Chino Valley School District CVUSD.   Undergraduate students take independent study classes so they can commit to working on their craft 6 to 8 hours daily and still get their academics done.

CVUSD is home to 21 California Distinguished Schools, the highest honor bestowed upon a public school by the state of California. We are also home to a National Blue Ribbon School, Title I Achieving Schools and a California Department of Education Service-Learning Leaders School.

The District is one of 547 school districts in the U.S. and Canada honored by the College Board with placement on the 5th Annual Advanced Placement (AP) District Honor Roll for increasing access to AP course work while simultaneously maintaining or increasing the percentage of students earning scores of 3 or higher on the AP exams.

Student test scores traditionally lead schools throughout the County of San Bernardino and the state. Thriving performing arts and athletic programs, nationally recognized marching bands, and invigorating parent programs distinguish Chino Valley Unified School District as one of the best school districts in California.

The District is responsive to the needs of our students and families through a wide variety of programs. Before and after school care is available for students. The HOPE Family Resource Centers assists with food and clothing, counseling, housing information, tutoring referrals and more.

In 2017 and for the fourth time in seven (7) years, CVUSD has been designated as a Model School Attendance Review Board (SARB) by the State Superintendent of Public Instruction for its attendance improvement and decreasing dropout rates.

The SARB process is available for students who are experiencing issues beyond the norm and provides resources for families to overcome barriers that may be contributing to students’ truancy.

POSTGRADUATE EDUCATION

Our postgraduate academics are administered through San Bernardino Valley College and or Chaffey College.  Post Graduate students have completed their High School education and are taking advantage of their "Grey Shirt" year by taking less than 12 units of classes at a local JC.  What does it mean to Grey Shirt?  The NCAA gives student Athletes a opportunity to take a year of development before selecting a University to attend.  As long as you take less than 12 units you are not considered a full time student so your Eligibility clock will not start until the following year.  After your Postgraduate year you will still have 5 years to play 4 at any University that you qualify for.

Coop Academy's academic component is organized by Theresa Price.  Theresa is the founder of The National College Research Foundation.  The N.C.R.F. is a full service outreach program to help all students, especially underserved and underrepresented students. We have created more programs to help our youth- college bound students, college students, and college graduates. Our expansion of our program is to help more students and their families with college, careers and beyond!  As we look at our economic times in this complex world, we want to make sure students truly understand that they have to be educated, trained and skilled to be an asset to themselves, their communities and our nation.  In addition to The College Expo tour, our programs now include a Student Athlete Program, College and Careers Work Readiness Program, Scholarship Program, and a College Planning/Financial Aid division.
